Since its first introduction in 1984, the RF line has been a staple in the motorcycle community. Years of research and development have led to constant improvements in safety, design, comfort, noise reduction, and overall quality.

Wind tunnel tests have greatly enhanced the RF's aerodynamics and ventilation, helping to evolve the design. Shoei specifically worked on refining the shape of the RF1200 to reduce drag and lift. The compact, aerodynamic shell design maximizes air flow over your head while maintaining the lightest SNELL approved full-face helmet in the lineup. Despite being the lightest, the RF-1400 introduces new noise reduction technology to ensure you don't forfeit important characteristics like wind noise.

The spoilered shell was meticulously designed in wind tunnels to achieve a quieter helmet. Shoei also improved the CWR-F2 shield system using Vortex Generator technology to displace wind turbulence. An airtight, watertight window beading system ensures a secure seal, making it nearly impossible to open. To further reduce discomfort from wind noise, the helmet features more voluminous cheek pads and removable ear pads.

Proprietary technology integrates a matrix of hand-laid, interwoven layers of fiberglass and lightweight organic fibers to deliver a helmet that meets SNELL M2020 and DOT ratings. Shoei's strongest, most elastic shell provides optimal impact absorption. The RF-1400 is also lined with a dual-layer, multi-density EPS foam liner that enhances impact absorption while allowing unrestricted airflow through the channels created in the liner. The precise placement of EPS material helps shape the helmet's compact, lightweight design.
